A Successful Knee Replacement and the Good News of not having a Brain Tumour made Catherine Agevi's Medical Trip to India Fruitful

Catherine Agevi shares her experience of having a medical treatment in India:

A Successful Knee Replacement and the Good News of not having a Brain Tumour made Catherine Agevi's Medical Trip to India Fruitful. All her medical problems are resolved as she happliy goes back to Kenya.

A few years ago, 56-year-old Catherine Agevi suffered from a tumour in her pituitary gland. Recently her doctors in Kenya told her that the tumour has started growing again for which she would require a treatment. It is because of this reason she accompanied by her daughter Dr. Lorraine Agevi arrived in India for their treatment.

Since when did you have the tumour?

Five or six years ago I had a tumour in my pituitary gland. I did undergo sessions of radiotherapy, but recently doctors back in Kenya told me that my tumour is growing again. I was scared. I didn’t know what to do since this was becoming recurrent now. So I and my daughter looked for places where I can have a proper treatment within my budget.

Where did you have your treatment here in India?

I went to Fortis Memorial Research Institute for my treatment and consulted Dr. Sandeep Vaishya. When I went to Dr. Vaishya, after seeing the reports, he told me that I wouldn’t require a treatment at all. The tumour is not growing and everything is fine. It was the doctors back in Kenya who had made a wrong diagnosis. I felt so relieved after hearing it. It has actually flushed down all my worries.

Did you have any other treatment at FMRI?

Apart from that I had a knee replacement surgery here, at FMRI. Dr. Ashok Rajgopal was my doctor.

What had happened to your knee?

I suffered from a lot of pain in my knee. Back in Kenya I was suggested a knee replacement surgery about eight years ago. But I did not do it. The pain did increase over the years. Even Dr. Rajgopal suggested that I should undergo a unilateral knee replacement surgery and this time I obliged.

How was your treatment at FMRI?

It was excellent. The doctors are so nice, the nurses are cordial and caring. The infrastructure and facilities of the hospital are so developed and modernized. It felt really good to have my treatment here. I recovered fast too.

How did you come across Vaidam Health?

We were looking for treatments at various places when one of my friends told me about Vaidam Health. Said it was a very good place where I can get assistance regarding my treatment.

Did you like Vaidam Health’s assistance?

Yes, of course I liked it. They are really warm and friendly. Dr. Tamanna recommended us hospitals, doctors and even assisted us in getting our emergency medical visas. We were having a lot of trouble with it but she helped us out. We were accompanied by Vaidam’s patient manager every time during my treatment. We never had to wait or face any trouble during our medical trip. Our patient manager was there at the airport to pick us up. We were given a nice accommodation too. We had a very good medical trip to India.
